OVERVIEW
In 2012, the company was founded and has since expanded to have a team of 100 employees. Despite starting with QuickBooks, Devil's Peak Brewing realized in 2016 that they required more comprehensive ERP capabilities. As a result, they made the switch to Acumatica which has led to better management of their financial data and the potential for future collaborations with vendors and partners across the globe.
SITUATION
In 2012, Devil’s Peak Brewing Company was launched by its founders after spending two years working on their business case, recipes, government applications, staff hiring, and “garage brewing.” According to Managing Director Derek Szabo, the company has been leading the way in educating South African consumers to try more bold and interesting beers, moving away from the typically mass-produced lagers that they were used to. Initially, QuickBooks was used for orders and sales, but when they tried to use it for inventory, it did not work out as expected. They found that they had limited ability to manage and track their supply chain and production. As the company expanded, its financial management needs grew, and it became clear that basic financial software was not sufficient anymore, especially as their supply chain became more extensive and its business more complex.
SOLUTION
During their search for a new system, Devil's Peak Brewing Company explored various options, including SAP Business One, Sage, SYSPRO, and NetSuite. With a clear vision of wanting a comprehensive cloud solution, they eventually narrowed down their choices to NetSuite and Acumatica. Ultimately, Devil's Peak Brewing found that Acumatica offered the ideal functionality and capability to manage their desired ERP suite, all at a competitive price. Their goal was to find a cloud-based solution that could handle their full financial and industry needs, and Acumatica proved to be the perfect fit. With its exceptional end-to-end functionality, cloud-based infrastructure, and cost-effectiveness, Acumatica emerged as the clear winner for Devil's Peak Brewing.
KEY RESULTS
• Enhanced visibility of data and strengthened supply chain control “end-to-end”
• 24/7 staff access to the system from anywhere, through the cloud
• Anticipated ability to manage growth and improve connections with suppliers and vendors
